Most bars and clubs in Seoul do check your IDs, so be sure to bring your passport, driver’s license, or whatever. A picture of my passport occasionally worked, but oftentimes, they’d require a physical copy. It is quite a big risk to bring your passport out on a night that might quickly become unhinged, but unfortunately, this is the case. A paper copy might work better than having a picture on your phone. There are some fantastic night time experiences that are unique to South Korea. While these activities can also be done during the day time, I’ve found the atmosphere more interesting at night in Seoul, so make sure you check them out. You can get really good shabu shabu from anywhere in Seoul. It’s a fairly cheap meal and really healthy as well! It’s just one metro stop away, and this area also has a college feel to it.
